Season 1910–11 was the 34th season in which Dumbarton competed at a Scottish national level, entering the Scottish Football League for the 12th time, the Scottish Qualifying Cup for the ninth time and the Scottish Consolation Cup for the second time. == Overview == Despite a slow start to the campaign, Dumbarton were crowned champions of the Second Division with 31 points, which included a 100% home record. However promotion to the 'top flight' was again denied in the subsequent 'election' process. There was disappointment in the attempt to qualify for the Scottish Cup, by only reaching the third round of the Scottish Qualifying Cup before losing to non-league club Galston, after two replays. The Scottish Consolation Cup however brought some further cheer before Dumbarton eventually lost out in the final to St Johnstone. Note that Herbert MacPherson's goal, the third in the match against Cowdenbeath on 4th February, was Dumbarton's 1,000th goal in all national competitions. Locally, due to league and national cup commitments, it was decided that the club would be unable to fulfil their obligations in the Dumbartonshire Cup competition, and Dumbarton withdrew after having played two games. During the season there were also 6 'friendly' matches played, including 'benefit' games for long serving players. Of these matches, 3 were won, 2 drawn and 1 lost, scoring 13 goals and conceding 5. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「1910–11 Dumbarton F.C. season」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
